Send us photosHow do I know if my shower is leaking?
Common signs include water on the floor outside the shower, mould or dampness that keeps coming back, cracked or missing grout, peeling silicone, loose tiles, and bubbling paint or swollen skirting boards on the other side of the wall. Staining on a ceiling below a bathroom is another giveaway.
Can a leaking shower be repaired without removing all the tiles?
Often, yes. Many leaks come from failed grout or silicone, and these can be repaired and sealed without taking the tiles off. If the waterproofing membrane under the tiles has failed, some or all of the tiles may need to come up so the shower can be re-waterproofed properly. We will tell you which situation you are in after the inspection.
What's the difference between shower resealing and regrouting?
Regrouting means removing the old grout between the tiles and replacing it, usually with an anti-mould grout, then sealing it to help it last. Resealing means replacing the flexible silicone in the joints and corners, such as where the walls meet the floor or around the screen. Many showers need both.
How soon can I use my shower after repairs?
For most shower leak repairs you can use the shower after 12 to 24 hours, or as advised by the technician on the day. Larger jobs such as re-waterproofing take longer, and we will give you a clear timeframe before we start.
Do you provide shower waterproofing?
Yes. We waterproof showers, whole bathrooms and balconies across Wollongong and the South Coast, whether it is re-waterproofing a shower that has failed or waterproofing a bathroom as part of a renovation.
